Come learn the basics of samba no pé (ie samba of the feet) and explore your sensuality in a relaxed, open-level, and judgment-free class with Carolina Bela ❤️‍🔥 This one hour and 45 minute workshop will dive into the feminine form of samba, also known as passista style, but it is open to all gender identities and expressions. Modifications can be given to those who want to dance the masculine style of samba, also known as Malandro style. You will learn some essential samba vocabulary, get familiarized with the political, Afro roots of samba, practice some across the floors to get in touch with your body, and end with a fun and sexy combo! Spent Valentine’s Day weekend with my one true love… burlesque 💌🧸 my first festival experience and it was truly one of the best weekends of my life, I’m riding such a high from it!!!! Reminiscing on old performances and I was gonna put audio over this clip but the laughs and the screams are literally the best part.. I don’t think I typically smile this much when performing but everyone’s energy was so contagious this night!!!! Shout out to @everythingsbiggercab for having me This act is an homage to Blue Velvet by the late great David Lynch, whose genius and artistry will live forever in me 💙 there is one specific move I took from that scene of a woman dancing to this song on top of a car if anyone can spot it..

Hiii, we missed y’all.. 💋 Curious about the world of cultural dance? Looking for a judgment-free and open-level environment to explore sensual movement from different parts of the globe? Yearning for more dance classes with great music? Nocturna Cabaret is ecstatic to present two empowering ✨cultural dance workshops✨ taught and produced by yours truly, Zina and Carolina Bela. These classes kick off the start of several resourceful, engaging, and affordable workshops we have planned for the year. On Sunday, February 22nd, take a sensual jazz, belly dance fusion class with Syrian raqs sharqi performer and Libra Belly Dance dancer, habibti, Zina. Then, on March 1st, round it out with sensual samba, taught by Austin Samba School passista and burlesque performer, Carolina Bela. “Had I not created my own world, I would have certainly died in other people’s” - Anaïs Nin This year has admittedly been pretty hard for me; I experienced a good deal of loss, hurt, and transformation. In spite of it at all, I have been creating. I have been building a world that I never thought was possible. I am realizing too that in some ways the change was necessary for me to keep my spirit alive and hone into my craft even further. This piece that I spent hours conceptualizing, choreographing, and rhinestoning the costume for is so far the greatest manifestation of what I have been dreaming about and working towards. It feels like the most Carolina Bela thing I’ve ever performed and I’m so proud of myself for it. I couldn’t have done it without the help, hard work, and creative input of my dear friends @khanhvytran and @coneja__, who I am immensely grateful for. ♥️ Also a lil PSA for my SA and Houston burly mutuals.. Step into the vibrant and sensual world of Carolina Bela, one of Súper Erótica’s cast members and co-producer of Nocturna Cabaret ❤️‍🔥🐆 “Ever since I was 18, I knew I wanted to be a burlesque performer. My very talented friend who used to dance with @theneonrouge in Houston, La Máquina, took me under her wing and gave me my first exposure to burlesque. I then got hooked on performers like Raquel Reed and Ginger Lee Valentine and knew I wanted to make something of myself. With my parents being born and raised in Brasil, I grew up listening to samba and decided to incorporate it into my burlesque. I started training in Rio style samba no pé and became mesmerized by passistas like Mayara Lima. I saw a lot of similarities between classic burlesque and samba, down from the walks, the hip movements, and the ornate costumes. I decided to coin my style “sambalesque,” which I’m so excited to explore further.
