PINCH US, WE’RE DREAMING 😭 We’re going to Europe with @deathcabforcutie this fall 🤍 From the beginning of this band, we have always had pretty opposing tastes in music from each other.. but of the small handful of bands that we ALL have felt inspired by, no one has been more consistently referenced, especially during writing and studio time, than Death Cab for Cutie.  Our last two records were made in Seattle at the same studio they had worked out of many years ago (love you forever @hallofjusticerecordingstudio). Both times we were geeking out that we were lucky enough to be there and hear stories about the phase of their career they were in while working there… and to use the piano from Plans a few times lol.  We have spent many van drives and lots of studio time discussing amongst ourselves which elements from which song of theirs we wanted to see if we could chase after to weave into something we were working on, what mood of theirs we wanted to emulate for a song, etc.  Over the years people have asked us from time to time who our big DREAM bands to tour with would be.. Death Cab has always been at the very top of the list. For this to come together feels like something magical. We can’t wait to see you there. Six years ago @thewonderyearsband very kindly asked a much greener Pool Kids to open for them. It was our first ever full US non diy tour. We were still learning how to be a band, we had just started writing some of the songs that would eventually become LP II, we were all so excited to be a part of such a special run with them, and our pals in @freethrowemo & @spanishlovesongs 🤍 We had the time of our lives. UNFORTUNATELY that tour was cut short because of the pandemic and Philly was included in that string of cancelled shows💔 We all made plans to play makeup shows in the north east that never happened, we figured it wasn’t in the cards. But TONIGHT six years later we FINALLY get to play Philadelphia with them. We love The Wonder Years, we are proud to call them our friends now, we can’t wait to scream along to every song tonight.
